Work at home? Not sure how you are going handle summer? Here are someFREE summer survival tips for work at home moms!
As a work at home mom, I believe that summer time can be a make it or break it period. The kids are out of school, out of routine, and the nice weather is just calling us to go out and play! However, work still needs to be done. So, how can a work at home mom survive the summertime rush?
Here are some summer survival tips for work at home moms!
Get up Earlier
I know this is not ideal for most of us. But, it is a legitimate way to survive summer as a work at home mom. Try getting up 30 minutes earlier each day. This will give you an additional 2 ½ hours each week! That is a good chunk of time! This also frees up more time during the day to enjoy your kids, go outside, or relax by the pool.
Adjust Work Load
If possible cut back on your hours in the summer. This gives you a nice break for the summer, and allows you to enjoy some down time with your kids.
Say NO!
The elaborate summer camps, pool days, messy crafts, and all those fancy summer bucket list ideas? DON’T do them! Have each child pick one thing that they really want to do this summer, and be sure to make time for it. Other than that, give yourself a break. Playing in the back yard? FREE! Summer reading at the library? FREE! Park play dates with friends? FREE! White space is a must for a work at home mom, and guess what? It’s not bad for the kids either!
Find Fun Activities to Keep the Kids Engaged
One way I plan on getting some extra work done this summer, is by allowing the girls to enjoy Brain Chase! It is a fun way to keep the kids learning all summer long (and I don’t have to plan)! These are also a few of our favorite summer activities that the kids enjoy each and every year!
