As a busy homeschool mom, I have to admit that most years I have only focused on the core subjects in our homeschool. You know Reading, Writing, and Arithmetic. We of course also add in Science, History and Geography. But, the fine arts section of our homeschool has lacked a lot through the years.
The reason for it isn’t due to lack of interest from my kids. My oldest particularly loves music and has had a huge desire to learn more about music. We have participated in theatre, added in piano lessons, and attended a music camp, but none of that has been at home, and part of our regular curriculum.
Her desire to have more in terms of music is what led us to Zeezok Publishing.
When you order the Zeezok music appreciation book 1 collection you will get all of this:
- Student Activity Book
- 5 Full Music Discs
- Lapbook Disc
- 7 Composer Biographies: Bach, Handel, Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Paganini, and Schubert
Zeezok’s music appreciation curriculum uses living books to help students gain a greater insight into the lives of composers. The music discs, lap book disc, and student activity book are designed to go along with the biographies to help further enhance your students learning. Zeezok’s music appreciation program offers more than just information about composers. It is a full music curriculum that not only meets the national standards for music appreciation, but exceeds it!
We have spent the last few weeks learning about Handel. But, while reading and learning some about Handel’s childhood and life, they learned so much more. Zeezok intertwines pieces of History, Geography, and Character training into their program. My girls loved reading his story and learning more about his country (Halle, Germany), his childhood, the instruments he played, the culture during his time, and the character qualities he displayed.
As a homeschool mom it is my job to make sure my children receive a well rounded education. This includes music appreciation. Zeezok allows me to do just that!

OH, I bet! I think once they hit a certain grade it should be optional. I know in school Music was considered an elective around 7th grade I think?

Music appreciation is one of those things I did with my kids when they were younger. It’s harder to fit it into the day when they get older!
