Guys, I can NOT believe I have not written one of these in MONTHS. I am SO sorry. Life here in the Bailey house has been a whirlwind. As always, if you want more regular real life homeschooling updates from us, follow me on Instagram. I try to share something every day. You can also use search the hashtag #BaileyHS.
The Question We ALL Need to Ask Ourselves
Last month was a whirlwind. Between convention travel and sickness, something else happened that just shook my world. I heard about the passing of a dear blogging friend of mine, Mandy Kelly. She guest posted for me here before, and we had met in real life at a blogging conference.
Her passing has me asking myself every day, WHAT LEGACY AM I LEAVING BEHIND?
If you knew Mandy’s blog, Worshipful Living, or knew Mandy, you knew she longed to leave a legacy. She even did a video in July about finishing our lives well. Her passion was Jesus. Her life reflected that. She lived a legacy that left every person who knew her knowing without a doubt where she was.
Her death has had me asking myself what kind of legacy I’m leaving behind. Do the words on this blog matter? What would people say about me after I’m gone? What would they tell my children about me? Would people know without a doubt that I loved Christ? Have I shared the love of God enough with my children and those around me?
Moms, it is SO important for us to leave a godly legacy. Every word we put out there on the web matters. Every action we take throughout our day matters. That smile we give (or don’t give) to the people we come in contact with matters. Our training up children who love and know Christ matters.
We are living a legacy each and every day. But what kind are we leaving? That is the question I am going to be asking myself each and every day moving forward. I encourage you to do the same. Let’s make a difference in this world.
Homeschooling…. or NOT?
I would love to tell you all that we are SO close to wrapping up our homeschool year and that things have been going smooth, but that’s not real life right?
The reality is that out of town doctors appointments, a tonsillotomy and LIFE have gotten in the way of school many days.
The past two weeks everyone in my home at one point or another had the flu. This means two weeks of not having school. ON top of already being behind. It’s a good thing we plan on year round homeschooling because it looks like we won’t be done until mid-June. PLEASE tell me I’m not alone!!
There are a few things we do when sickness hits that allow us to still get some school done. I lay those out below in this video.
