Fear is not something God wants us to have. It comes from comparison. It comes from our own expectations. It comes from worrying about what others think of us. In no way does it help our children. It is no way a reflection of the love God has for us or of the sacrifice Jesus Christ made for us.
And, this episode is ALL about conquering those homeschool mom fears.
Today is the first episode in our 4th season of the Joyfully Homeschooling podcast! I am so excited to share our new season sponsor, Sonlight. Be sure to check them out by clicking on the graphic above.
On this season of the podcast, we have many amazing guests on the line up including, Julie Bogart, Sherri Siegelson, Sarita from Sonlight, Connie Albers, and topics on what to do if your kids want to go to school, what homeschooling has taught me, and much more.
On this episode of the Joyfully Homeschooling podcast, we are tackling homeschool fears. Over and over again I hear from moms about their fears. They want to homeschool well, but fear stops them. They want to love homeschooling, but as soon as they are happy in their methods they think they are missing something. They want to step out and trust the Lord on the BIG things He is calling them to, but fear stops them in their tracks.
But, what if instead of allowing fear to grip us, we remind ourselves of what the bible says?
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. ~2 Timothy 1:7
Because you see, FEAR does not own us.
- Fear #1 You want to homeschool but are afraid to jump on board
- Fear #2 My Kids will Hate me for Homeschooling them
- Fear #3 What about GAPS in Homeschooling?
If your fear wasn’t listed here, be sure to go back and check a few other podcast episodes on fears. In episode #20 we chatted about homeschooling high school, in episode #24 we chatted about the fear of failure. And in episode #47 we chatted about the fear of doing “enough” in our homeschool. I also have a whole series on homeschool fears on the blog, AND a presentation I presented at the Southeast Homeschool Expo available for purchase. Check the links for all of these in the show notes.
